Capsules, Drops, or Rubs… Which should I use and why?
One of the main reasons to consider adding our consumables and topicals to your cannabis regime is to protect your respiratory system. Our production methods offer the consumption of pure plant cannabis without the smoke, or any adverse physical effects. Unlike most cannabis edibles that feature sugar as a main ingredient, diabetics and those watching their calories will appreciate knowing that our capsules and drops contain no sugars, additives, artificial colors, or preservatives. Just pure plant cannabis goodness infused (transfused… conversation) into a super food!
Capsules
Capsules are a convenient way to consume cannabis. Taken like a vitamin, our capsules enter the digestive tract, where the cannabinoids are released, maximizing their bioavailability. Each capsule provides a safe, reliable, and consistent dose.
Drops
Drops are perfect for those who desire micro or dynamic dosing. Most other mass-market drops are manufactured in labs from large vats of generic biomass, blasted into CO2 oil and blended with M.C.T. oil (which is fractionated palm/coconut oil). Neither CO2 oil nor M.C.T. are whole food products nor are they intrinsically bioavailable. Our drops, in stark contrast, contain no extracts, isolates, distillates, or concentrates. Instead, we use two ingredients only: pure plant, cured (not fresh frozen) cannabis flower, infused (transfused… conversation) into organic, extra virgin olive oil. This means our drops may be enjoyed on any food normally enjoyed with olive oil. For the adventurous, you can make your own edibles! Kind Drops offer our lowest cost per milligram of THC. Our drops are also very effective when used as a topical and are, in fact, the base for our topical line.
Topicals
Topicals are used for relief from symptoms of injuries and inflammatory conditions that result in bone, muscle, ligament, and tendon pain. While many other topicals are made by infusing cannabis distillate or crystalline into a topically applied product, such as lotion, our Rubs and roll-ons are manufactured in a more traditional, method of infusion with essential herbs and oils. They are designed to be applied directly to the affected area for symptom relief. Customers are surprised at how fast acting and localized the effects are to a specific area of their skin, joints, or muscles. The plant’s value is absorbed directly into the skin, with no psychoactive effect. Some benefits our customers have enjoyed are accelerated scar healing and their anti-carcinogenic effects when fighting skin cancer. Our menthol is a THC-forward formula designed specifically for inflammation reduction and muscle injuries. Our moisture formula is a 1:1 CBD rich product line used for skin healing and deep pain relief without the menthol sensation.
Why are Kind Creations made with cannabis?
There are two sources for cannabinoids: phytocannabinoids, or those produced by a plant and endocannabinoids, or those an animal produces internally. The phytocannabinoids we use come from trichomes covering the surface of the cannabis plant. In animals and humans, endocannabinoids activate our homeostatic effect, bringing our bodies back to a balanced state of health. They are produced by our cells in an “on-demand” fashion. When we consume phytocannabinoids, they can produce more overt effects, and can help make up for endocannabinoid deficiencies. When consumed proactively, they can even supplement our endocannabinoid response. Some phytocannabinoids are also capable of producing euphoria or intoxication. The human body produces cannabinoids to help it operate optimally. Likewise, the cannabis plant’s trichomes produce phytocannabinoids that defend against stress and pests, keeping the plant healthy. Cannabinoids help the cannabis plant and help us humans! Through a process of decarboxylation (using heat to breakdown the compounds), we can heighten the plant’s value further: THCA and CBDA become TCH and CBD, which provide the psychoactive effects and most of the beneficial physical effects in our bodies. We have essentially two cannabinoid receptor types in our bodies, CB1 and CB2, which regulate a variety of brain and nervous system functions. CB1 controls the timing and frequency of release of certain chemicals like serotonin, dopamine, and glutamate. CB2 governs our immune response, including our response to pain and inflammation.
Everyone’s endocannabinoid system is unique. Our individual response to a cannabis strain’s cannabinoid profile would be unique as well. Cannabis cannabinoids directly impact our CB1 and CB2 receptors and flavonoids and terpenes also influence our experience with the plant. It is the balance found in the full cannabinoid profile, the flavonoids and terpenes, and our own, unique endocannabinoid system that determines whether a strain or type will create a desirable effect, or something less. Certain terpenes may support and enhance the potency of cannabinoids such as THC and CBD, what Dr. Raphael Mechoulam has famously described as the entourage effect, where a combination of cannabinoids may prove more effective than an isolated compound. Others have used the term ensemble effect, to portray how phytocannabinoids, terpenes, and other cannabis compounds are interdependent and synergistic.
There is sufficient science that points to how consuming phytocannabinoids may reduce our pain, anxiety, and inflammation. Without making any specific medical claims the research supports the notion that, while your individual experience may widely vary, certain, specific health and wellness properties have been reported by other cannabis users, including:
⦁ THC generally provides a feeling of euphoria or an intoxicating effect, but the exact nature of THC’s effects on brain functions will vary widely from person to person.
⦁ CBD generally provides systemic pain relief, and while the intensity and duration of effects will vary widely from person to person, consuming CBD has been found to provide relief for nerve related maladies, with extreme anti-carcinogenic properties
⦁ There are many other cannabinoids that provide symptom relief for cannabis consumers with some of them reporting anti-epileptic, anticonvulsant properties, used to stimulate appetite and treat Huntington’s and irritable bowel syndrome, as a sleep aid, fighting pain, bacteria, inflammation, stimulating bone-cell growth, and boosting neural cells that assist in brain function, addressing obesity, etc.
⦁ It is important to understand that none of these statements may be considered as medical claims, precisely because each body is different, each body’s endocannabinoid system is different, each body’s CB1 and CB2 receptors are different, and we each enjoy a different level of health, each of us have our own cannabis consumption patterns, and each of our bodies will respond to strains and delivery methods differently. This just means that your wellness journey is your responsibility, and while we are happy to provide insight from what other cannabis consumers have found, we cannot prescribe your course of action… that’s up to you!
